How Does UV Light Impact On The Human Health?
Eye DamageThe World Health Organization (WHO) classifies broad-spectrum ultraviolet radiation as a Group 1 carcinogen. Strong and penetrating blue light in wavelengths of 380-400nm can reach the retina and cause various eye problems (cataract, macular degeneration, etc). According to WHO, approximately 18 million people are blind as a result of cataracts; 5% of all cataract related cases is the direct result of UV exposure.
